Corneal topography

We use corneal topography to obtain a very accurate map of your cornea (about 22.000 points are studied) this is the front and external part of the eye. So we can know in detail the shape of this important structure for vision.

Topography helps us to evaluate your cornea if it is normal or if it has any irregularity of pathological type, such as keratoconus or pellucid marginal degeneration. Both cases require adaptation of contact lenses highly specialized in order to achieve very important visual enhancements. Some other cases in which topography is essential are orto-K (treatment to reduce myopia), the adaptation of contact lenses in people operated with laser and adaptation of lenses gas permeable.
